Sarah Granger

This is bringing back so many exhausting memories... I would've laughed at the thought of a "lactation consultant" pre-motherhood. Turns out they're pretty important people after all.

Clearly a case of "hindsight is 20/20." I figure by the time I'm 80 I'll be close to a genius because of all the "life lessons" I've learned - then again, I'm already forgetting where I put my keys!

Why is it that by the time you learn about everything you can't remember anything?

I breastfed my first to 18 months when I found out I was expecting my second baby. I pretty much stopped her cold turkey...she would cry and bring the bobby out (which I tried to hide in the closet) but I was firm and she only cried about it for about 2 days and was fine. And after I stopped, she actually slept through the night for the first time in 18 months! I guess I was really using it as a big crutch.

It's month 16. Sweet Pea is sleeping through the night (well, from 7pm to 5am anyway) and is nursing in the morning. I try not to go to her until 6am but I'm afraid her screams will wake up Poppy (our 4 year old). Also, she will nurse for a few minutes if she gets an "ouchie" and somehow mama just can't seem to say no.

Is it time to go cold turkey or will she just quit on her own?
